Our vision.

SMART’s vision is to enable healthier lives by turning real-time health measurements into action, driving earlier diagnosis and empowering community-based health management.

Healthcare systems are shifting towards earlier diagnosis and decentralised community care, including GPs, pharmacies and homes. Yet, most diagnostic technologies were designed for centralised laboratories and cannot reliably operate in the real-world settings where care increasingly takes place. As a result, even when valuable health data are collected, they are rarely translated into timely clinical decisions.

Our mission is to co-design point-of-need diagnostic technologies that translate real-world health signals into timely decisions, enabling individuals and clinicians to deliver earlier diagnosis and person-centred care. Our initial focus will be on long-term conditions, but we aim to expand this to other disease areas in the future.
